Listen here to a Wednesday edition of Breaking with Brett Jensen!

CMS had its annual press conference to discuss the school systems progress since last year’s presser. Brett shares how this year’s results compare to those released last year as well as why he doesn’t think the numbers are really worth celebrating.

He also shares audio from CMS Superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill and others from CMS. They answer question about problems like chronic absenteeism in the school system and other issues that are plaguing student performance levels + how they plan to correct the issues in the schools performing the worst.

We’re also joined by North Carolina gubernatorial candidate and current Treasurer Dale Folwell. They start the conversation by talking about proposed billion-dollar bonds for CMS. Treasurer Folwell puts into context what the bonds would cost, where they would go and details about the strongest proponents for them + addresses toll road issues.
