Breaking Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about “Eaglegate,” a dispute between residents in South Charlotte and a land developer determined to build an apartment building in their neighborhood. This part of Charlotte is home to million dollar houses and bald eagles.
There are many layers to this dispute; from homeowners protecting their community from an increase in crime and a decrease in home value, the protection of bald eagles which serve as a symbol of American freedom, to the land developer determined to reap the rewards of their investment, and even a Charlotte official who received a massive campaign donation from the developer.
Later in the show Brett has Leigh Brown on the show to discuss new legislation regarding the commission due to real-estate agents.
