Truist customers’ cards canceled, re-activation system is broken

Something terribly screwed up is happening at Truist bank, after it deactivated customers’ credit cards and directed them to activate new cards. Except the activation system doesn’t work. The bank is not offering any sort of a cogent explanation for what’s happening.
