On this Friday edition of the Brett Winterble Show we continue our weekly tradition of the Friday Hangover with WBT host Pete Kaliner talking about personal rules for using Twitter and the shooting at a lake house connected to NC GOP congressional candidate Pat Harrigan in October.

Pete and Brett discuss the importance of clear messaging when it comes to dealing with incidents of public interest, compare the situation to the narratives that emerged from the attack on Paul Pelosi and talk about the response from Harrigan on Twitter.

The shooting came after Harrigan’s opponent Jeff Jackson filmed an ad near his families lake house in Hickory and the advertisement has since been pulled from the air. Jackson’s campaign issued the following statement: “We fully support law enforcement as they investigate this incident and believe any wrongdoing should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We at Team Jackson pulled our ad in an abundance of caution and concern, but to be clear, the home involved in the incident has never been featured in any of our advertising.”

Brett and Pete also discuss what kind of accounts they will and will not engage with on Twitter + their personal “follow back,” policies and how McDonald’s is embroiled in yet another coffee law suit.
