With a heat wave out west, California is facing looming energy shortage and urging residents to conserve by cutting their air conditioning. The effort to avoid rolling blackouts across the state came days after the Governor announced a ban on gas-powered vehicles by 2035.

In Colorado, the power company took control over 22,000 customers’ thermostats to prevent them from lowering their air conditioning during a peak demand period. But the pressure on the grid in these warm months is expected to pale in comparison to the looming energy crisis coming this winter.

Europe has raced towards “renewables” to meet their energy needs, while buying large amounts of gas from Russia.
