The boom that North Carolina has experienced in the past 12 years has been due to the fiscal reforms enacted by the GOP after it won the legislature in 2010. Until then, Democrats had controlled state government (and most local ones) since Reconstruction. Their record of low taxes and high growth have earned them the legislative majorities they hold.
Last night in Pennsylvania, President Joe Biden delivered a rambling, confusing, and confused speech where he tried to rebrand the Democratic Party as the party of law enforcement. He accused Republicans of inciting violence by criticizing the raid and search of Donald Trump’s Florida home. He also alleged that his “MAGA friends” were supporting the people who stormed the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
