Tune in here to this Wednesday edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

We’re joined by Matt “The Coach” Doherty, and Bob McKillop, the head men’s basketball coach of Davidson College, to talk about everything from NIL to Steph Curry.

Coach McKillop was Doherty’s basketball coach in high school, and later in life he was Doherty’s boss when they were coaching together at Davidson College. McKillop shares stories of young Doherty, and they both share their stories of the first game they ever won as a head coach.

They also discuss how coaching, athletes, and society as a whole has shifted over the course of their careers. They point to social media as a leading cause of the degradation of the mental toughness of young men and women in today’s society. The “sickness of me” is an epidemic that is reshaping society, it is no longer “look at us,” it’s “look at me.”
