NC Weighs Data Center Rules; Below-Average Hurricane Forecast

North Carolina lawmakers are considering new regulations on data centers alongside protections designed to shield ratepayers from rising utility costs tied to expanding energy demand. At the same time, the State Board of Elections is requesting $60 million from lawmakers for a major statewide election system overhaul. Forecasters are also predicting a below-average Atlantic hurricane season this year, though officials continue urging residents to prepare ahead of the summer.
