The US Attorney General Merrick Garland belatedly addressed the nation regarding the raid on former President Donald Trump’s home earlier this week.

In Hour 1 of the program, Pete checks in on the Senate committee interrogating Attorney General Merrick Garland for his concerns about school board parents across the country.

The probe will focus on the botched raid which left 26-year-old Breonna Taylor shot and killed by police in her own home a year ago. DOJ officials have faced scrutiny for a lack of oversight involving several incidents of police brutality over the past year. A majority of those against Black Americans, which have led to widespread protests in the US.

"Today, I am announcing that the Justice Department has opened a civil investigation to determine whether the Minneapolis Police Department engages in a pattern or practice of unconstitutional, unlawful policing," Attorney General Merrick Garland said.

The president, who will be joined by Attorney General Merrick Garland, will nominate David Chipman, an adviser to the gun control organization founded by former Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
