Is NC a 50-50 state?

Despite the framing of North Carolina as a 50-50 split between Republicans and Democrats, we’re actually a 52-48 state. Democrats have a hard time winning votes in rural and suburban areas, while the GOP needs to improve its tallies in urban areas.
