There are more than 180,000 North Carolinians with Alzheimer’s Disease, and more than 356,000 family and friends who are providing care. And this Saturday, a month of walk events kicks off with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Rotary Centennial Pavilion in Gastonia.

Katherine Lambert is the CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter. She says there will be about 600 walks around the nation during the month of October — with 17 in North Carolina.
