Tune in here to this Thursday edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

Brett shares a story from the AP of a diver that was attacked by an alligator while searching for fossils at the bottom of the Cooper River in South Carolina. Will Georgitis was able to free his arm from the jaws of an alligator after a violent fight in the murky depths of the Cooper River.

Georgitis stabbed the alligator repeatedly hoping to free himself but after his air tank ran dry he was forced to put both feet of the gator and pushed off with all of his strength to pull his arm free. His arm was sliced and mangled but not gone, he was able to get to the hospital in time to save his arm.

With over 100,000 alligators in South Carolina it is imperative for residents and certainly anyone getting in the water to stay vigilant.
