The speech comes hours after meeting with Senate Republicans early Wednesday morning. The Minority Leader has tried to rally other GOP members behind his efforts to block any commission from becoming law.

George Pierre Tanios, 39, of West Virginia, and Julian Elie Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania are accused of spraying a Sicknick and other police officers during the violent attack. Khater called what was in the cannister "bear sh*t," according to court records, but the Justice Department on Monday said the spray is unknown.

Federico Guillermo Klein, 42, was taken into custody by authorities and faces multiple felony charges related to the riot, including knowingly engaging in an act of violence against any person or property in a restricted building or grounds. He remained at the State Department until Jan. 19.

According to court documents, The Tar Heel served as a training base for some militia members involved with the act of domestic terrorism.  A superseding indictment against several alleged members of the militia group Oath Keepers shows at least one man “attended a training camp in North Carolina.” Although, no specific location of the camp was listed in the court filings.
