Curtis kicks off the program by talking about his return to Charlotte’s WBT airwaves and his long friendship with Brett Winterble, dating back to Winterble’s days as a phone screener for Rush Limbaugh. Sliwa introduces himself to listeners by reflecting on his career in talk radio, his leadership of the Guardian Angels, and his past runs for mayor of New York City. He shares stories about helping combat crime in New York during the turbulent late 1970s and credits the Guardian Angels with helping restore public safety when police resources were stretched thin.
