Jensen’s discussion with Driggs centers around controversies with Charlotte’s I-77 toll lane project and the city’s interim mayor situation. He first asks Driggs about a transportation-related meeting involving City Council that had been scheduled earlier that day, but was abruptly canceled without explanation. Jensen notes that officials from several neighboring towns have indicated opposition to rescinding the project. Jensen then shifts the discussion to controversial statements made by Charlotte NAACP President Corine Mack regarding the selection of an interim replacement for Mayor Vi Lyles.
