Duke Drops Offshore Wind and Stein Energy Task Force

The NC General Assembly met but took no action on either the stalled state budget or pending vetoes. Duke Energy announced it will no longer pursue offshore wind energy projects in the state. Governor Stein has created a new energy task force aimed at lowering utility rates while promoting renewable energy. Meanwhile, the State Board of Elections reports correcting over 20,000 voter records while continuing to collect additional ID numbers.
