Protests planned across Charlotte area against Trump

Protests are erupting across the country in response to President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles as part of a federal immigration crackdown.
In Charlotte, more than a dozen “No Kings” demonstrations are planned for Saturday, June 14. Organizers say the protests aim to push back against what they view as authoritarian tactics, emphasizing the message: “In America, we don’t have kings.”
“They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services. The corruption has gone too. far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings,” the website states.
Despite the growing backlash, the Trump administration says planned immigration raids and deportations will move forward as scheduled. Saturday’s protests are expected to mark the largest day of anti-Trump demonstrations since he took office.
