Vice President Kamala Harris received endorsements from three prominent Republican leaders in New Hampshire who previously supported Nikki Haley over Donald Trump.
Former Senator Gordon Humphrey, former Congressman Chuck Douglas, and former Attorney General Thomas Rath cited concerns about Trump’s divisiveness and instability, urging Republicans to support Harris.
“I voted Republican for fifty years, but I’m voting against Donald Trump and I plead with all Republicans to do the same,” Humphrey said in a statement. “As a father, a grandfather, a veteran, and a former United States Senator, I cannot vote for Trump. He’s dangerous to our democracy.”
The endorsements reflect a growing enthusiasm for Harris among registered Republicans in New Hampshire and nationwide. The Harris-Walz campaign welcomed the support and highlighted the increasing number of Republicans backing Harris, including former GOP Reps.
Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. Despite Haley’s support for Trump, the endorsements signal a shift in Republican support towards Harris in the crucial swing state of New Hampshire.
