A historic meeting with President Joe Biden and Russia's Vladimir Putin ended after a three-hour closed door exchange between the two world leaders on Wednesday. The two shook hands and exchanged pleasantries before immediately starting the summit on the world stage in Geneva.

According to White House officials, a summit between the two leaders is set for June 16 and will be part of Biden’s first international trip as president. He will also visit Britain for a meeting of Group of Seven leaders and Brussels for the NATO summit. “The leaders will discuss the full range of pressing issues, as we seek to restore predictability and stability to the U.S.-Russia relationship,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement announcing the summit.

According to Bloomberg, the sanctions are expected to be announced on Thursday and include expelling Russian diplomats from the U.S. immediately. Officials will also blacklist more than 20 Russian entities, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The business publication was the first to report the story.
