Biden set the goal of 200 million shots administered by April 30, which is his 100th day in office.  The President is also expected to announce that 150 million doses have been put into the arms of American's since his inauguration on Jan. 20. It will put the deadline well within reach for his administration over the next three weeks.

The President's first press conference in the East Room comes days after COVID-19 vaccination efforts were said to be ahead of schedule. As of Wednesday, the US has administered 83.9 million initial doses of the vaccine, which is roughly a quarter of the general population.

After two mass shootings in less than a week, President Biden responded to the latest killings in Boulder, Colorado from the White House before departing to Ohio Tuesday afternoon. He said the Senate should "immediately pass" two House bills to close loopholes in firearm background checks. "This is not and should not be a partisan issue," Biden said. "This is an American issue. It will save lives, American lives. We have to act."

The former Secretary of State also said she was “intrigued” and a “little saddened” by the fact that both Russia and China are pushing their vaccines. “So this is the kind of leadership that the United States has historically been known for which frankly we should be lifting up and doing more of,” Clinton said.

Biden appeared on ABC with George Stephanopoulos and during his time was asked about the sexual harassment scandal with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. What was omitted from the interview was the President being asked about his own sexual misconduct allegations while serving in the US Senate.

"A year ago, we were hit with a virus that was met with silence and spread unchecked, denials for days, weeks, then months," Biden said. "That led to more deaths, more infections, more stress and more loneliness." At another point, Biden pulled out his mask and expressed amazement that it had been turned into some sort of political statement.

Biden originally said there would be enough vaccine supply on-hand to inoculate the entire adult population by the end of July. "Through partnership with vaccine manufacturers and our efforts to ramp up its production, we will now have enough vaccine supply by the end of May," a statement by the administration said.
