Personal protective equipment including face masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes bought to stop the spread of COVID-19 can be deducted as a medical expense when filing taxes, the IRS said on Friday.
“It’s also a patient safety issue. If you get vaccinated, you’re much less likely to give COVID in the workplace,” said William Schaffner, MD, an infectious disease specialist with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a consultant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Millions typically get aboard a cruise ship from Florida each year and the industry generates billions for the state’s economy.
