A busy weekend in the NFL capped off with the Sunday Night game featuring Tom Brady's homecoming to face the New England Patriots in Foxborough. Ironically, Brady ended up breaking Drew Brees' all-time record for career passing yards with 80,359. He lead the defending Super Bowl Champs to a 19-17 win over his former team in prime time.

The Carolina Panthers went on the road and took care of business with a 24-9 win over the Houston Texans on Thursday night. Sam Darnold went 23-of-34 for 304 passing yards and two rushing scores.  As nice as being 3-0 is for Carolina, it comes with a cost after injuries to Christian McCaffrey and rookie sensation Jaycee Horn

The crowd of over 70,000 at Bank of America Stadium witnessed the start of the Sam Darnold era. However, it was the Panthers defense who stole the show, forcing six sacks and an interception on Jets rookie QB Zach Wilson. Darnold finished the day with 279 yards and a touchdown.Â
