Tune in here to this Monday’s edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

Brett kicks off the program by talking about newly released text messages from Dr. Anthony Fauci’s government-issued phone and questions surrounding COVID-19 vaccine safety during pregnancy. He highlights information reportedly obtained by Senators Ron Johnson and Rand Paul, including a January 2021 discussion in which Fauci referenced concerns that significant reactions after a second COVID-19 vaccine dose could theoretically be associated with miscarriage during the first trimester. Brett contrasts those early communications with later public statements from health officials, including Fauci, that COVID-19 vaccination was safe for pregnant women and showed no indication of increased adverse outcomes

Later Brett discusses the growing physicality of professional sports and the controversy surrounding a recent WNBA incident involving Sophie Cunningham. He plays a clip of Joe Concha criticizing a hard foul on Cunningham and arguing that the player responsible should face a significant suspension. Brett acknowledges the seriousness of dangerous plays but questions whether sports have become overly sensitive to physical contact and on-court conflict. He argues that athletes across sports are moving faster and competing at a higher intensity than in previous generations, making collisions and aggressive plays more likely.
