8-6-26: New Election Bill Passed
Tune in here to this Thursday’s edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen!
Breaking Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about changes to North Carolina’s early voting laws and Governor Josh Stein’s expected veto of House Bill 958. The legislation shortens the early voting period for municipal elections and primary elections, while leaving general election early voting unchanged. Brett also examines voter turnout data from Mecklenburg County, noting that participation in recent primary and municipal elections has been relatively low despite the current early voting window.
