Update: I-77 Double Shooting Was Domestic

Police in Mooresville updated the Sunday afternoon shooting in the southbound lanes of I-77…which was first considered a case of possible road rage.
“This was not a drive-by shooting, this was a domestic incident that may very well turn into a murder-suicide,” Chief Ron Campurciani said.
It is a bizarre story that includes text messages talking about a murder-suicide pact between the couple. The man identified as the boyfriend and shooter, is 23 year old J’Kobe Tre’shon Ramseur. He had what Campurciani called a “tumultuous” relationship with a 19-year-old woman.
“It’s a shame,” Campurciani said. “He was obviously was obsessed with her. It’s pretty clear from text messages we’ve seen. He didn’t say this, but I think we can fill in the blanks that, ‘If I can’t have you, nobody can,’ that type of thing.”
The chief said there were “a bunch of text messages,” from Ramseur to the woman that “talked about a murder-suicide pact and kept pressuring her to pick him up.”
Police believe he shot the woman in the head as they drove down the interstate, then he apparently shot himself. The car then crashed and the woman was airlifted to the hospital where she is still fighting for her life.
Ramseur is also charged with crimes in surrounding counties. But he cannot be arrested at this point because he too is in critical condition in the hospital
