The Friday Hangover w/ Pete Kaliner on The Brett Winterble Show

Brett kicks off the show with Pete Kaliner for this week’s Friday Hangover, they discuss the explosive meeting between President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The fireworks started following VP Vance mentioning his intent to address the issues with Russia through diplomacy, President Zelensky immediately became heated, leading to a heated exchange. Brett shares one critique of President Trump, pointing to him being overly zealous about the rare earth mineral deal between the US and Ukraine. The duo agree that President Zelensky is an unreliable enemy, with Brett saying that he seems like a guy who would sell out an ally in a minute.

Later, they discuss the responsibilities to secure one another that many European countries are shirking, leaving it all to fall onto the shoulders of the United States. You will remember, President Trump forced members of NATO to pay their fair share during his last term. For decades America, and therefore the American people, have been paying the freight while the other nations enjoy their security blanket for free. We are on a different continent, we can take care of ourselves, why continue to participate in an alliance that uses us as a piggy bank that they never deposit money into.
