Breaking Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announcing a state of emergency as the Carolinas are hit by tropical storm Debby. Brett also shares a story about his first week working at WBT where he was asked to go to Wilmington N.C. to cover hurricane Florence, a category 5 hurricane that ravaged much of the East Coast. Brett shares some scary stories from his travels, including a situation where he was stuck in the middle of nowhere as the water was rising all around him.
Later Brett talks about getting to play a round of golf at Quail Hollow today where he birdied one of their most iconic holes, number 17. He also discusses the passing of Belmont Mayor Richard Turner and shares a clip from WBTV covering the Mayor’s funeral.
