Police say they discovered the body of 23-year-old Trevon Quantavius Fields of Roanoke Rapids inside the trunk of a car during a traffic stop around 1 a.m. ET. Fields was killed by apparent gun shot wounds and police later learned he was likely murdered outside of the city limits.Â
