The Horry County Police Department said that because the two people responsible for damaging the house are minors, they could not be charged due to their ages. To make matters worse, Police added that the vandalism was done intentionally. The kids told police they were playing outside the house and broke in to "get a drink."

Bobby Cherry, 58, pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina said Friday in a press release. According to court documents, Cherry was involved in a scheme to defraud Lowe’s Home Improvement of more than $450,000 over the course of two years.

The proposal by Republican lawmaker Tom Corbin works off of the state's constitution that allows the governor to call up an “unorganized militia” of any “able bodied male citizens” between ages 18 and 45. An exception would automatically expand membership to everyone who is over the age of 17.

The state Department of Employment and Workforce says the jobless rate dropped to 5.3%, which is down from 5.6% in December, but well above the 2.6% rate in January 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic started a year ago. However, the number of job searches made by people collecting unemployment benefits are quite low.

Former Vice President Mike Pence is expected to give his first public address in South Carolina since leaving the second-in-command post in January. The Indiana Republican will keynote a dinner hosted by the Palmetto Family Council on April 29 in Columbia, South Carolina, according to Fox News.

The bill passed the S.C. Senate with a 32-to-11 margin on Tuesday. It will likely move on to the Republican-majority House of Representatives for consideration. In a statement to CBS News, a spokesperson for Governor Henry McMaster said he would "proudly" sign this legislation into law.

William Robert Norwood III, 37, faces four charges related to the insurrection, including theft of government property for allegedly stealing an officer’s helmet and tactical vest, which FBI agents said were later found in a storage trailer in Greenville.

Rep. RJ May said his bill would allow for Trump to have a final resting place in South Carolina. There has been no formal commitment by the former president, but if he agreed to be buried at the S.C. Statehouse, a committee would determine a proper resting place. Only one other person is buried on the grounds of the South Carolina Statehouse. Revolutionary War captain Swanson Lunsford, who died of yellow fever in 1799.
