A poll conducted in 2017 found that 16 percent of Americans have never met a celebrity. As rare as it may seem, a majority of people have a story (or two) of coming in contact with Hollywood celebrities. Here are my top five celebs I had the pleasure meeting. What’s your top five?

Listen to the entire McCrory Top 5 segment below.

1. Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood, the real America Cowboy, was a delight to spend time with. I enjoyed it! I’m still waiting for a phone call from him.

2. Liam Neeson

Liam and bumped into each other (literally) while filming the movie ‘Nell’. I was an extra in the movie and he was great to work with and I learned a lot.

3. Bob Hope

An entertainer by nature, the longtime host and I met years ago. I was in sixth grade and stood in line to get his autograph in front of the Sedgefield Inn. He took my pen which was my dad’s and he went off to a concert. I waited outside the hotel the whole time while Hope was at the Greensboro Coliseum. He came back and I kindly asked him for the pen back, knowing my dad would be upset without it. Hope invited us up to his room to get the pen back and was a great guy.

4. John Travolta

I had drinks with John Travolta in Miami Beach at a bar. It was me, my wife Ann, John, Kelly Preston, the Mayor of Baltimore (who was the biggest jerk I’ve ever met) and believe it or not Hillary Clinton’s brother. Travolta was extremely nice and so was Preston.

5. Claire Danes

I met the ‘Romeo + Juliet’ actress while filming the Showtime thriller ‘Homeland’ in Raleigh. In one scene, she filmed in my office in the Governor’s mansion and I cleared out for them. Afterwards I got to meet Claire and she left me a little love note on my desk. What a great memory to say the least.Â
