Krina Patel, a 36-year-old principal in Cabarrus County, was arrested early Saturday morning, January 3, and charged with driving while impaired (DWI). Patel, also known as Krina Pressley, serves as the principal of Harris Road Middle School in Concord.

According to an affidavit, Patel was stopped by a Huntersville Police Department officer while driving on Highway 73 near Ramah Church Road. The officer reported seeing Patel cross the center line and commit multiple lane violations. Upon stopping her, the officer noted that her speech was “slow and slurred” and that she “fumbled one of her documents.”

A breath test conducted during the stop showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.14, nearly double the legal limit of 0.08. Patel was taken to the Mecklenburg County jail and later released on a $2,500 bond.

Patel’s school biography highlights her extensive experience in education, including roles as an elementary school teacher, middle and high school assistant principal, and elementary school principal.
