A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a mass shooting at a house party in Catawba County that left one person dead and 11 others injured over the weekend.

Garon Nathaniel Killian of Lenoir was taken into custody Tuesday and is being held without bond, according to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said Killian is connected to the early Sunday morning shooting.

Authorities executed multiple search warrants as part of the investigation and said more arrests could follow. Around 80 shots were fired just before 1 a.m., with some victims suffering gunshot wounds and others injured while trying to escape.

Shawn Patrick Hood, a 58-year-old from Lenoir, was killed. The victims range in age from 16 to 58.
