Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration will be held indoors because of dangerously cold weather expected on Monday. Temperatures are forecasted to stay near 20 degrees, with strong winds making it feel like single digits.

This could be the coldest presidential inauguration since Ronald Reagan’s in 1985, when freezing temperatures also forced the ceremony inside. It will even be colder than Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration, which saw a high of 30 degrees and wind chills in the teens.

“There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social midday Friday. “I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way. It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!).”

The D.C. area may also be covered in fresh snow from a storm expected on Sunday, with strong gusts blowing through the region. The forecast has gotten even colder throughout the week, as models predict a blast of Arctic air from the polar vortex moving south from Canada.
