"It is with much sadness that we announce that late this afternoon our beloved co-worker, Robert Shook, succumbed to his injuries and passed from this earthly world. We are all heartbroken and our attention must turn to comforting each other and Robert’s family," reads the announcement from the company's owners, Joel and Steven Long.

Horn's Facebook account showed several statements about being in the Capitol on Jan. 6 during the attack in Washington D.C., and he also made a live video recording while inside the Capitol. According to court documents, two people say they recognized Horn from an Instagram post by The New York Times and called the FBI.

Rapper and actor DMX has died at hospital in New York on Friday. He was 50. The rapper's condition is said to have shown no improvement after a series of tests that were performed Wednesday, leaving his family with the agonizing decision to take the 50-year-old entertainer off life support.

A handful of bills to legalize marijuana for both medical and recreational use were filed in North Carolina's General Assembly this week. Senate Bill 711 would allow doctors to prescribe cannabis for debilitating conditions such as cancer, AIDS, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis.

Wake County announced Thursday evening that it stopped administering Johnson & Johnson doses at PNC Arena after 18 of the more than 2,300 people vaccinated experienced adverse reactions. People at the site were given the option of the Pfizer vaccine or allowed to reschedule their existing J&J appointments, according to officials.

At the age of 20, Long was arrested by Concord police and accused of raping 54-year-old Sarah Bost. Lawyers for Long claimed investigators lied about evidence and fought for years to have the conviction thrown out. An all-white jury of Long's peers found him guilty in a Oct. 1, 1976 verdict. 

Adams, 33, played as a defensive back for six seasons in the NFL including with the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, and the Atlanta Falcons after starring at South Carolina State. He also suffered multiple injuries in the NFL, including concussions and a broken left ankle.
