The $1 billion campus will employ 3,000 people working on technology including software engineering and machine learning, according to a press release by Apple. It will be located in North Carolina’s Research Triangle area, near the campuses of the state's three major universities— NC State, Duke and North Carolina.

Andrew Brown, Jr., 42, was killed at his home around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. According to a witness, Brown was trying to drive away when he was fatally shot, but officials haven't provided many details on the shooting. They have said the State Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the actions taken by deputies, and did not say what led up to Brown's death. 

NBC News reported on Wednesday that the Trump administration granted a total of $1.3 billion to a Connecticut company to supply an essential syringe for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Except, no syringes have been made. And the factory promising 650 jobs in North Carolina remains unbuilt.

"Today, I am announcing that the Justice Department has opened a civil investigation to determine whether the Minneapolis Police Department engages in a pattern or practice of unconstitutional, unlawful policing," Attorney General Merrick Garland said.

Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes as he was handcuffed and lying on the ground motionless. A dramatic moment caught on camera outside a Minneapolis convenience store that led to civil unrest across the county last summer. Police responded to a report that Floyd used a counterfeit $20 bill.

Chauvin, 45, was found guilty of second-and third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. The judge asked each juror if the verdict was correct and thanked them for service over the past month. He revoked bail for Chauvin and immediately had him taken into custody. 

Robinson went on to say that he will keep his promises to the people of the Tar Heel State and focus on getting Republicans elected in 2022, both in the state legislature and in Congress. "I did not seek elected office for personal fame or fortune – I did it to serve the people of this state and nation," he said.
