According to CMPD, a man wielding a metal post used for street signs entered the Plaza Sundries in the CATS Center downtown on Tuesday. Surveillance video shows 24-year-old Xavier Rashee Woody-Silas destroying merchandise while shouting anti-Asian slurs at the store's owners.

Williams graduated from North Carolina in 1972 and set out on a coaching career. He returned to his Alma Mater in 1978 for a 10-year stint as an assistant coach under Dean Smith, winning a national championship in 1982. Shortly after 7:20 p.m. Monday, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Walmart located at 8180 South Tryon Street in the Steele Creek Division. When officers arrived, they located evidence of a shooting inside the business and began a search for the suspect and anyone injured.

The tornado hit early Tuesday morning in southeastern Brunswick County near Seaside Rd. and Highway 17 in the Ocean Ridge Plantation Community, destroying homes and leaving a path of destruction including thousands without electricity, according to news reports.
