North Carolina reported 100 or more COVID-19 cases on Sunday. The same day Johns Hopkins University reported that 40% of Americans live in areas running out of ICU space. The thirteenth day with N.C. hitting the century mark in deaths since the pandemic started and ten of those in 2021 alone.

House Democrats will "carry the sole impeachment charge across the Capitol late Monday evening, a rare and ceremonial walk to the Senate by the prosecutors who will argue their case," according to AP News. The 50 democrats in the Senate hope enough Republicans in the chamber, some who've publicly denounced Trump, will unify with them to bar the cast-off president from holding office again in the future.

Tom Brady's Bucs upset the Green Bay Packers 31-26 in Sunday's NFC Championship at Lambeau Field. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs earned a return trip as defending Super Bowl champs by defeating the Buffalo Bills 38-24 in the AFC Championship.

This weekend Atrium Health is hoping to administer over 16,000 vaccinations to people who are at least 65 years of age at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The speedway is the first of two mass vaccination sites, Bank of America Stadium will host a similar vaccination event in the near future.

A new federal strategy to fight the Coronavirus pandemic will be released by President Biden later today. Among the ten executive orders being signed includes initiatives to ramp up testing, reopen schools and increase the use of masks.

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was sworn in Wednesday as the 46th president of the United States, writing a new chapter in American history as the first oldest American to hold the nation's highest office at 78. The former vice president takes over in a time of healing with a nation currently divided.
