North Carolina forward Armando Bacot announced he’s returning to play a fifth season for the Tar Heels.

Following the Tar Heels’ 22-11 record season, Bacot’s decision was shared on social media.

Due to the NCAA’s waiver in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he has a fifth year of eligibility.

The 6-foot-11 forward leads North Carolina’s career leader in rebounds, double-doubles, and double-figure rebounding games.

The Tar Heels failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament this year and chose not to participate in NIT. Bacot averaged 15.9 points and 10.4 rebounds.

In the 2021-22 season, he averaged 16.3 points and 13.1 rebounds. In the NCAA Tournament, he set a record by recording six double-doubles, capping off that season.
