This Monday on the Brett Winterble Show we start things off with a discussion about the first day of school for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools with WBT reporter and host Brett Jensen.

The Brett’s talk about what the general feel is amongst people after a particularly trying 2021-22 year as well as the biggest issues facing the schools and superintendent Hugh Hattabaugh — staffing issues in the buses and the classrooms and guns being brought to campus. Jensen shares what he knows of the plans to confront both of these problems as well as why the school system is optimistic violence will be reduced in the coming year.

Winterble and Jensen also talk about how Monkeypox has been treated after just over 100 cases have been detected here in Charlotte — with Jensen explaining why he doesn’t think it is an issue for now.
