A man who initially survived a horrific mass shooting in Rock Hill, S.C. on Wednesday has died.

Officials say Robert Shook, 38, became the sixth person killed by former NFL player Phillip Adams, who later took his own life.

The five other victims include Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, his wife, two of their grandchildren and Shook’s co-worker James Lewis, 38, who were HVAC technicians from Gastonia working at the house.

After being shot multiple times, Shook was able to call his boss for help who then called 911. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition where he died on Saturday.

GSM Services, the company that employed Shook and Lewis, released a statement of Saturday.

“It is with much sadness that we announce that late this afternoon our beloved co-worker, Robert Shook, succumbed to his injuries and passed from this earthly world. We are all heartbroken and our attention must turn to comforting each other and Robert’s family,” reads the announcement from the company’s owners, Joel and Steven Long.

“Please keep his family in your prayers tonight and in the coming days as we all face this together.”

Shook, a father of three, was remembered by his friends and family at a prayer vigil Sunday night in Rock Hill.

GSM started a GoFundMe page that has already raised more than $180,000 as of Monday morning. The money will go directly to the families of Shook and Lewis.
