Often, what qualifies as news in the sports world isn’t relevant to news about politics or legislation, but today on “Breaking with Brett Jensen,” the two worlds overlapped.

Brett first talked about the possibility of sports gambling coming to North Carolina as it is discussed by the House Judiciary Committee, including why he feels the time has come for North Carolina to catch up with many places in the country. He addressed concerns about religious issues with gambling or the concern for gambling addiction but said “it is time to get rid of this archaic way of thinking,” highlighting the economic benefits that would follow.

He also talked about why he feels people who are upset about PGA golfers joining the LIV tour are “being taken out to lunch,” citing the many ethical issues with similar events like the Olympics and FIFA World Cup that are deemed acceptable.
