Big day: College coaches wait to see if players stay, or go

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- The first NBA deadline college coaches had circled on their calendars was Sunday -- the last date players could declare for the draft. The next date they have circled is May 24. That's when players who have entered the draft but not hired an agent have can withdraw and return to school if they aren't comfortable with the feedback they're getting from NBA teams.

Gonzaga's Williams declares for draft, won't hire agent

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Gonzaga junior Johnathan Williams has declared for the NBA draft but will not sign with an agent, leaving open the possibility he will return for his senior season. By not signing with an agent, Williams has until May 24 to decide whether to remain in the draft or withdraw and return to Gonzaga. Williams averaged 10.2 points and 6.4 rebounds in his first season with Gonzaga after transferring from Missouri.

Williams-Goss to skip senior season, declares for NBA draft

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Nigel Williams-Goss, who led Gonzaga to its first appearance in the Final Four, said Tuesday that he will skip his senior season and declare for the NBA draft. He will hire an agent, precluding his return to Gonzaga. The second team All-American led Gonzaga in scoring last year (16.8 points per game) as the top-seeded Zags advanced to the NCAA title game, where they lost to North Carolina.

Zach Collins of Gonzaga announces for NBA draft

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Gonzaga freshman center Zach Collins on Tuesday declared for the NBA draft, becoming the first one-and-done player in program history. The 7-0 center said he was exploring his options without hiring an agent at this time, but intends to hire an agent at a later date. The first McDonald's All-American recruited by Gonzaga, Collins averaged 10 points and 5.
