LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A city famous for its over-the-top persona is eagerly welcoming an NFL franchise that boasts an equally outsized reputation and the promise of big-league legitimacy for the desert gambling oasis, which up to now has seen major sporting events just passing through. A friend once explained the sports writing business this way: "We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us." Martin Mauricio Ortega was OK with the first part, but apparently not the second. The one-time Mexican media executive and part-time memorabilia seller is the only suspect named so far in the overheated investigation into who stole Tom Brady's Super Bowl jersey.

MEXICO CITY (AP) -- The Mexican media executive suspected of stealing Tom Brady's jersey went to the Super Bowl as a working journalist but spent the week collecting selfies and autographs from football greats and boasting to colleagues that he was there as a fan.
BOSTON (AP) -- Tom Brady's missing Super Bowl jersey has been found in Mexico six weeks after it vanished from the Patriots' locker room -- but the mystery isn't over. The NFL said the jersey was found in "possession of a credentialed member of the international media," and authorities were investigating Monday whether a former Mexican tabloid newspaper executive played a role in the theft.
The Latest on NFL free agency (all times Eastern): ___ 10 p.m. A person with knowledge of the deals says the Dallas Cowboys are adding two more defensive players in free agency in cornerback Nolan Carroll and defensive end Damontre Moore. Carroll, who comes over from NFC East rival Philadelphia, is getting a $10 million, three-year contract, the person told The Associated Press on Friday on condition of anonymity because the deals haven't been announced.
