News Talk 1110 WBT supports Kids First of the Carolinas each year in their efforts to help provide gifts for children in the Charlotte area who otherwise wouldn't have Christmas.
WBT Host, John Hancock has been involved with this charity for over two decades and each year with him and all the WBT Talent help lead the way for WBT's Hey Kid, It's Santa program.
Starting around Thanksgiving listeners like yourself have the ability to "sponsor" local children and provide them with a Christmas gift. Hancock also hosts an an online and on-air auction where you can call in and bid on items and all the money goes to providing gifts for the children of Hey Kid It's Santa program. Also, Hancock broadcasts live from South Mecklenburg High School, where it's an awe inspiring, lump-in-the-throat inducing sight to behold as the Charlotte community pulls together to donate bikes for these needy children so that they can have the best holiday possible.
Kids First of the Carolinas is a very small, grass roots charity that hosts an annual Christmas Party for homeless and underprivileged children in the Charlotte and Western North Carolina area. They are a 503C3 non-profit and do not receive any local, state or federal funding.
Their annual Christmas Party helps well over 600 children receive holiday presents who with our your generosity wouldn't have a Christmas to celebrate. They charity consists of just two giving moms and a great group of volunteers. Kids First of the Carolinas works to help families help themselves to a better life.
