Taste of Charlotte 2009Taste foods from the BEST restaurants in the TOWN! News Talk 1110 WBT was at the event all weekend with the Mobile Kitchen at the heart of the festival, Trade and Tryon. Friday, Stacey Simms learned how to cook from the best chefs around, Chef Mark Allison from Johnson and Wales, and Chef Bill Bigham. The John Hancock Show and The Pete Kaliner Show was LIVE from Taste on Friday Night, followed by a special edition of the Jon Wilson Show Saturday 4pm – 7pm. Plus, participants entered to win a NEW Char-Broil Infrared Grill, along with a $500 grilling spending spree to help make that patio complete!

2008 Hometown Hero BanquetThis year's Hometown Hero Banquet was a huge success, thanks to our heroes and our sponsors, Scott Clark Toyota Scion and Sharp Business Systems. After an evening of wining, dining and great inspirational stories shared to us all, Kristen Fortin received the Hometown Hero of the Year Award! She was presented with a check for $5000 to a charity (or charities) of her choice. WBT would like to thank everyone who was involved! |

WBT's Hall of Fame Bronze UnveilingThroughout WBT's 86 years of history and heritage, there have been some key people who have contributed to WBT's Rich Radio history. The WBT Hall of Fame was created by WBT's General Manager, Rick Jackson, to honor those individuals. On the WBT 75th Anniversary, Charles Crutchfield was inducted. On the 80th Anniversary, Grady Cole and Loonis McGlohan were inducted. Last year, on the 85th Anniversary, Arthur Smith, The Briarhoppers, Ty Boyd, and Earle Gluck were inducted into the WBT Hall of Fame. Those members attended the wall unveiling of their Bronze plaques in the WBT Hall of Fame. Enjoy the photos!

Taste of Charlotte 2008News Talk 1110 WBT was out for the 10th anniversary of Lowes Foods Taste of Charlotte! Over 100 food samples from your favorite Charlotte Restaurants. WBT presented the WBT Mobile Kitchen featuring local chefs with demos of their signature dishes. WBT and vitaminwater also featured an Ice Sculptor on Friday and Saturday night, and took FREE photos in the WBT Kids Zone. A great weekend of great fun! |
