Overnight homicides under investigation in Charlotte

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 4500 block of Biesterfield Dr. in the North Division at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, March 17.

North Division patrol officers responded to the 4500 block of Biesterfield Dr. in response to a 911 call from a concerned citizen who advised that a male victim had been stabbed and was knocking on his door.  Officers arrived and located the victim in a residential driveway.  He was transported by MEDIC to Carolina’s Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased by Hospital staff.  A female victim was located inside of a second residence also located on Biesterfield Dr.  She was pronounced deceased at the scene by MEDIC from apparent stab wounds.  Both victims’ identities will be released once their next of kin are notified.

At 1:08 a.m., Metro Division patrol officers responded to the Exxon Station located in the 4100 block of Glenwood Dr. after receiving a 911 call from an individual who advised that he had just killed two people.  This suspect was located and detained by the responding patrol officers.  He has been transported to the CMPD HQ where he is being interviewed by Homicide Detectives.
