Mecklenburg Judge Bill Belk resigns

Facing possible removal from the bench by the North Carolina Supreme Court, Mecklenburg County Judge Bill Belk resigned late Friday afternoon.

Belk submitted his letter of resignation to the assistant for Chief District Court Judge Lisa Bell.

Belk has been under fire for allegations of willfull misconduct and the state's judicial standards commission had recommended Belk be
