Horry County man convicted of 2015 Myrtle Beach killing

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) -- An Horry County man has been convicted of murder in a death nearly two years ago.

Local media outlets reported that 41-year-old Keith Sheldon Levan of Socastee was convicted in Conway on Wednesday. Levan was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Levan had been charged with killing 50-year-old Barry Selmon of Myrtle Beach on Feb. 21, 2015.

Prosecutors said Levan had discovered his wife was planning to meet Selmon at a store in Myrtle Beach early that morning. Levan drove his wife's car to the store with two guns and shot Selmon once they drove behind the store.

Investigators say Levan fired about six times. Selmon died from a gunshot wound to the head.
